A short list of things before I take off for vacation on Friday morning:

Finish drawing my feet for figure drawing on 18x24 paper

Print out my image manipulation project, mount on 19x13 board

Turn in my English comp II research paper

Scan in some homework I've made and post it up online

Pack up two weeks worth of clothes. Grab camera, phone, other camera, extra cash, etc...

I haven't posted. It's not because I forgot. It's because I just don't care.

I survived retail hell - October to January - and made quite a bit of money. I'm running a 3.2 GPA. My classes are awesome. I have no shortage of people with which to do things on a daily basis. Money is short but I'm finding a new job, and it looks like I'll be working for Sony Style in the international plaza by the airport. If not there's plenty of other CE stores around that need my talents.

I'm swamped with schoolwork. In fact I should be drawing a self-portrait contour right now. Fuck it. I'll do it when I'm done.

I got a Playstation 3 w/ Assassin's Creed for Christmas. I'm using my tax return to buy a 32" LG HDTV to complement it. I've also gotten back into flying R/C aircraft with Tony on the weekends. I'm scheduling a vacation to visit Valparaiso again for spring break and I intend to do absolutely nothing, because it's everything I think it can be.

I've been so stressed out over everything related to school and our apartment situation that I've developed a nervous twitch in my right eye. This is crazy. Time management is the biggest issue, followed by finals for school next week (especially Beverage's portfolio requirements), and lastly money and the fuckhead living downstairs from us.

Long story short: The day we moved in, over two months ago, this guy right below us calls CIS (the security guards on premesis at our complex) on a noise complaint because I'm installing a ceiling fan at 1 AM. I can't sleep without a fan running. I stop making noise and life goes on. Later in the week, we get another noise complaint from the guards. Then the next week, and so on. Every week of every month since we've moved in, a guard has come to our condo and explained that we're "making too much noise". The guy living downstairs is apparently hypersensitive and will make up stories to explain what he feels is outrageous noise levels. To him, it seems, our walking around is actually 10 person parties raging on into the wee hours of the morning.

If Liz or I drop something, the guards come up because he calls them immediately. If we fall over accidentally, they come. If I walk slightly heavy, there's a knock on the door. It got to the point where I had to have two officers come with me to confront him about the situation. He didn't even attempt to communicate with us before calling security for two months, then after I tell him it's okay to let me know that we're making too much noise... He says he'll come up and talk to us if it gets too loud again, but lies to my face because he has yet to come and talk to me in the ten times the guards have come since the time we spoke.

We're working out an arrangement with the leasing office to move to a two bedroom condo on the first floor right now. This is a really good thing because we need to have space for the baby, and because it's much easier on Liz and I when we move back to Orlando after our time at AITA is finished. I've never heard of anyone that moves into a multi-family complex and expects peace and quiet at all hours of the day. You know we've actually had the guards come at 12 PM? Hillsborough county regulations state 11 PM is the time when you're legally able to register a loud noise complaint. If he calls the guards again after the new arrangement we've worked out, I'm seriously considering calling the county sheriff for a harassment complaint. We pay a lot of money to live where we do, I don't see any reason why this guy needs to put our lives through hell when we come home.

My last week of school is coming up, then we break for three weeks and I get a much needed rest. As luck would have it, Brad from the University Mall wants me to take over his manager shifts so I'll be doing sales for about 10 hours a day. Not that they'll let me get overtime or anything. I'm shit tired right now. JD and I went to Ben's place last night to organize a Super Smash Bros. game like we usually do every Tuesday night... stayed out until 12:30, came home and passed out. Liz wakes me up this morning and I'm only running on about five hours of sleep, so I take her to school and here I am waiting to go to work in a few minutes.

My computer concepts teacher is pissing me off so badly. Half the time she spends teaching is taken up by her trying to find the menu item that will do a particular action in Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, or whatever program she's teaching us that day. I sit there in agony watching her waste time by scrolling around the workspace to find the one menu item she keeps skipping over. Makes me want to yell really loud at her to get her attention and make her understand how simple it is to press CONTROL C TO FUCKING COPY SOMETHING IT'S NOT THAT HARD BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS

argh. that feels better. Anyway. She does this extra points thing where we earn or lose points based on what we do in the class. I've earned a few points but I'm losing a couple because of her inane blog posting rules. "You must have blah blah updated by Friday"

I'm sorry, what? I'm not AT HOME most of the time.. I can't post to my class blog project if I'm constantly at work when I'm not at school.

It's absurd to lose a half point from my grade because I didn't post a picture of something I was working on in class THAT SHE SAW AS I WORKED ON IT!

jeez.

I just don't like losing points for absurd reasons. I'm running a high A in that class and I don't want to jeopardize it. At the same time I have to work at least 20 hours a week on top of having three days dedicated to class and the rest of the week dedicated to classwork.

It's so fucking annoying... You know?

Oh by the way... The mmmonster computer came in last week. That thing is amazing. Even glows in the front and back like a little starship. My XPS runs fast, quiet, and has no issues running 10 things at once while playing CounterStrike!

I'm getting a $3,200 Dell XPS system in a couple of weeks. I'm so pysched over it, Liz can have her laptop back all the time so we don't have to share it anymore. I can set up the desk for my workspace and start using the system for renders because of the dual core processor. I was thinking of going quad core but it's expensive (like $1,000 more) and I didn't figure it was worth it, yet.

Classes are going well. Beverage's critiques put me in the awkward position of having to redo all the roughs I made for principles of design, and using a rough I never sketched out as a final rendering on mat board. I also have to sort out some financial aid crap out with the school, so I'm thinking a plus loan would really help with that.

I'm going to bed, and I haven't eaten since 3 PM yet I'm barely hungry... what's up with that?

I finished Yoko's assigned classwork, and also finished all of my sketching for logo design in Illustrator for Carmen's class tomorrow.

The topics for today are:

8:15 a.m. First Call of the Roll, announcements (food policy), review blogsite posts and blogsite critiques.

8:30 a.m. Exploring on our own. In this section, Jonathan Holmes will share his experience with saturation, contrast, lightning, duplicating a layer and using several blending modes; including multiply, screen, overlay, luminosity, etc... Let’s all have fun advancing our skills in Photoshop.

Awesome stuff. I'm gonna down a Starbucks frappacino tomorrow morning, drive like crazy to make it to college on time, then I'll get my paperwork ready for class presentation and teaching. I've never had a class tutorial presentation before. It'll be fun! :)

All the work I need to do is finished, thankfully. I have to put something together in Powerpoint tomorrow morning so I have to head in earlier than usual. But that's about it.

Geometric simplification

Design a simple house. Use 18x24 paper, draw and design a one story house using graphite. Must be drawn from one corner outward. Must have at least 4 wood frame windows, 1 door, wood frame exterior wall, gable roof and large oak tree in the front yard. Perspective must be drawn accurately. Line only, no shading.

Reading: Chapter 6, pages 96-113. Prepare for quiz on drawing vocabulary.

I've almost got the house done, I took a break to play SS2 and get a fresh view on the subject. I seem to work better when I come back to something instead of working on it constantly. Small breaks let me see some things I missed the first time, especially when I'm tired. This'll probably be done before I go to bed tonight, then I have a couple of math assignments to finish after work tomorrow so I can go to class and submit them to Zota for grading. After that, I have to head to class a little early on Tuesday morning to scan in the sketches I made for a corporate logo in Illustrator. Wednesday's going to be spend working on Beverage's principles of design project, I still have a few thumbnails to finish for that so I can get the two roughs done on 18x24 for Thursday's afternoon class, then Higgins' college success class requires my paragraph writing assignment on "proper college attitude" haha

I haven't updated this in so long! I almost forgot about having a LJ. Not that anyone reads it anyway! I've been swamped with stuff to do, I kinda miss having nothing to do all the time. Between work, college, family and friends... there's like nothing else I have time for. Not that I'm complaining, and I think it's about time that I removed the friends only lock on here so anyone else can read it.

Go check out the new condo Liz and I are living in. I'm waiting on Tony and Katie to come out and visit... Mike, Annette, and Becky are all coming over on Friday. We had Mallory over with us yesterday, hit the pool and the hot tub before coming back to our place to watch Office Space and eat a bag of crasins. haha

I just realized that any journal I post in is so half-assed, they all suck. I just don't care enough about it to really spend the time or energy to look like I'm posting with any kind of emotion or interest in what I'm doing.

I should really start posting better things. I guess I can start with saying I'm in Tampa for the night and I'm spending $450 next Tuesday on something only a few people know about. Someone call me too. I'm bored.
